FINDING BALANCE AND WELL-BEING THROUGH ORGANIZATION

The New Year is well underway, and we're already approaching February. Many of us are actively working to achieve our resolutions and goals for 2024.

As a professional organizer and organizational coach, my mission for my blogs this year is clear:

"I want to inspire readers to improve their personal and professional organization. My intention is to help them feel better psychologically, emotionally and physically by optimizing their living and working spaces."

My past experiences with customers confirm the correlation between well-being and organization. When our emotions, thoughts and bodies are upside down, so are our spaces! So prioritizing balance and organization in our lives boils down to taking care of ourselves.

If you are determined to take care of yourself this year, I invite you to read these tips, some excerpts of which are taken from my guide The 8 mantras of organization (downloadable free of charge when you subscribe to my newsletter).

BECOME AWARE OF THE SITUATION

Becoming aware of the problem of disorganization and/or accumulation and understanding its origin is already a huge step forward. Isn't it said that a fault confessed is half forgiven? The simple fact of taking responsibility for the situation and admitting to ourselves that we need help naturally encourages us to be more indulgent towards ourselves, to feel more in control, and to take more action.

So, when we become aware of the importance of living in a healthy environment and its impact on our inner state, then the process of transformation can really begin! A tidy space helps us save time, money, space, peace of mind and, as a result, less stress in our daily lives. To try it is to adopt it!

TAKING ACTION IS GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH!

It takes a lot of energy and courage to take action, but it's well worth the effort because it has an impact on our health! Guillaume Duludea doctor in neuropsychology, author and lecturer, talks about a very interesting principle in his book I'm a gold digger. It explains the relationship between health and movement:

"There is a consensus in psychology and medicine about human movement. The body's cells are in constant transformation. It's a well-known fact that an individual with a sedentary lifestyle will sooner or later feel the effects of his or her lack of movement and exercise. This principle also applies to psychological health.

Un jeune homme est en mouvement. Il saute dans les airs et est joyeux.

An individual who loses meaning, and therefore movement, is highly prone to psychological distress, which can manifest itself in high anxiety and depression. Getting a person back into motion is therefore a health priority. Restoring health means reactivating movement-generating systems. "

If we focus on the benefits we can derive from decluttering and organizing our spaces, then it will be easier to give meaning to our actions and thus access the energy we need to get moving again. And if it's too hard for you to do it alone, don't forget that there are people out there to help you, and I'm one of them!

THE SECRET OF CONSTANCY

Consistency and discipline are the golden rules when it comes to establishing new habits. Just as a sports coach will put his athlete through his paces well in advance of the Olympics, several times a week, so too will the organization.

To maintain a clean, tidy and pleasant environment, it's best to do a little bit every day to avoid accumulation and clutter. So don't wait until spring or when you're feeling discouraged to declutter your spaces - do it every day!

In conclusion, finding balance and well-being through organization is an essential step towards a fulfilling life in 2024. By becoming aware of the link between well-being and organization, we realize that our emotions, thoughts and environment are interconnected. Prioritizing balance and organization then becomes an act of self-kindness.

Be aware of your needs, take action for a healthy environment, and understand that this has a positive influence on your well-being. Invest in consistency and discipline to establish new habits. Make organization a daily commitment to a balanced and harmonious life.
